How We Raise Our Kittens?
At LuxeYolk Cattery, raising a kitten begins long before the day they meet their future family. Every stage of their development matters — from thoughtful breeding decisions and health care to early socialization and the environment in which they grow.
Our goal is not simply to raise beautiful British Shorthairs & Longhairs, but to give every kitten the healthiest possible start and the foundation for a confident, affectionate life.

1. Thoughtful Breeding Starts with the Parents
A kitten's foundation begins with its parents. We carefully select our breeding cats with consideration for health, temperament, structure, coat quality, and breed characteristics.
Our breeding program focuses on British Shorthairs and British Longhairs, with particular attention to the golden shaded colour family.
We believe responsible breeding requires more than appearance. Our breeding cats receive appropriate veterinary care and genetic screening to help us make informed breeding decisions and reduce the risk of inherited conditions.
2. Growing Up in a Loving Home Environment
Our kittens are raised in a home environment where they experience everyday household sounds, routines, and human interaction.
From an early age, they become familiar with gentle handling, daily care, and the presence of people. We allow them to explore, play, and develop at their own pace.
Rather than rushing their development, we provide a calm and comfortable environment where each kitten can gradually build confidence.
3. Early Socialization & Personality Development
The early weeks of a kitten's life are an important period for learning and development.
We provide regular human interaction, gentle handling, playtime, and age-appropriate enrichment to help our kittens become comfortable with their surroundings.
Each kitten has its own personality. Some are naturally curious and adventurous, while others are quieter and more observant. We respect these individual differences and give every kitten the time and attention they need.
Our aim is to raise kittens who are comfortable around people, confident in their environment, and ready to adapt to family life.
4. Health, Nutrition & Veterinary Care
Health is an essential part of our breeding philosophy.
Our kittens receive regular veterinary examinations, age-appropriate vaccinations, and scheduled deworming. We also monitor their growth, appetite, activity, and overall development throughout their time with us.
Nutrition is equally important. We provide quality kitten food and a consistent feeding routine to support healthy growth and development.
Before going to their new homes, kittens complete their veterinary care requirements and are spayed or neutered as outlined in our adoption program.
5. Preparing for Their New Homes
We believe our responsibility does not end when a kitten leaves our cattery.
Before joining their new families, our kittens are introduced to everyday routines and gradually prepared for the transition to a new environment.
Every kitten goes home with a carefully prepared starter package, including:
50 days of transition food
Canned food
30-days Trupanion Pet Insurance
Toys and familiar essentials
Basic medications and care supplies
We also provide a new-home guide covering feeding, litter care, adjustment, and daily routines to help families make the transition as smooth as possible.
6. A Lifetime of Support
Bringing a kitten home is the beginning of a long-term relationship, and we want our families to feel supported throughout that journey.
We remain available for guidance on nutrition, grooming, behaviour, and general care. Whether it is a small question during the first few days or advice as your kitten grows, we are always happy to help.
At LuxeYolk Cattery, we believe that responsible breeding is about more than the first few months of a kitten's life. It is about the care, attention, and commitment that continue long after they leave our home.
Raised with care. Loved from the beginning. Ready for a lifetime with you.
